Border Crisis: 7-in-10 Voters Want Biden to Declare a State of Emergency

Sixty percent of Americans are following news about the end of Title 42

A strong majority of American voters agree that President Joe Biden should declare a state of emergency to allow the deployment of FEMA and National Guard personnel to border communities.

TITLE 42 AWARENESS – the poll of 2,000 Likely Voters, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates May 18-21, 2023, asked participants:

“How closely are you following news about the end of Title 42 – a COVID public health measure that was used in practice to help block entry of illegal immigrants into the county?”

  • 21 percent – Very closely
  • 40 percent – Somewhat closely
  • 24 percent – Not that closely
  • 15 percent – Not closely at all

Those most likely to be following “very closely”:

  • 30 percent – Republicans
  • 23 percent – Blacks
  • 24 percent – Baby Boomers|
