A Scott Rasmussen/RMG Research poll finds 68 percent of Americans support U.S. aid to Israel.
There is bipartisan support for providing aid to Israel.
WHY IT MATTERS – Israel funding is a top priority for Congress and could be wrapped into the debate over Ukraine funding in the spending bills.
THE NUMBERS – A Scott Rasmussen/RMG Research poll from Oct. 9 – Oct. 12, asked Americans if it is important for the United States to help Israel defend itself against Hamas. It revealed the following:
- 68% believe it is important to help Israel defend itself
- 16% believe it is not important to help Israel defend itself
- 16% are unsure
When asked which side America should support:
- 53% favor American support for Israel
- 6% favor American support for Palestinian groups
- 25% think America should not support either side
THE BOTTOM LINE – There is a bipartisan consensus that it is important and responsible for America to support Israel in its war with Hamas.
